If I am anybody, then purposely released experiences are mere fodder compared to pure, adrenaline pulsing, drool enducing cinematic adventure. Lets pause and reflect upon recent attempts on such primal influences…
Good?
Frankly, to name particular failures would be a pure pause upon illegal names and franchises that continue to forego character development, including action, darkness, and all other human-like emotion and pause…yet have no problem replacing such relatable characteristics with recognizable story details and grit (that should really be called “mud”). Not to mention they may be a unusable cause against monumental filmic “successes” that mostly survive on the costs we reviewers risk on such properties. I want very much to name a movie experience that may just become my greasy fist in cultural soil. Not to mention, a stake to Sci-fi claim most “nerds” of such a style are waiting to own. When done right, these movies are not just some semblance of time emptied upon a screen, but a time to become the child awaiting the far-too-possible ideas of disturbing the sleeping maelstrom at the center of a simple, steady existence. The relief of doom and exasperating joy towards the fruition of a promising imaginative idea.
Let’s face it, we are without answers, yet we give our lost attention to the screen. No. This is too essential a practice to relegate to the lazy synapses of the brain. Yet often such entertainment is only that…and nothing is gained or lost. What I will say is a visionary artist who once relied on someone capable of breaching the skin of understandable existence, has returned to his holy ground to provide a semblance of explanation that furthers questioning of the topic, instead of clearing away speculation. And if the teases released are anything, we as an audience should re-commit our understanding from the idea, into the notion that the proven artists (who have braved through the critics to provide filmic Caravaggio seeds) yet still can think past the most of us who lay dormant in un-answered mysteries of soul, mind, body, and relic imaginative. Despite cost, the daring courtship of artist braving the complex challenges of a changing time, can fit a story began and continued in the furtive minds of the originators. Hail the complex.
