Battle Babies By Brad And Stacey Rader
Note the fine Corinthian leather
We aren’t the first to ever feature Battle Babies, but we are probably the most in love with them.
Note the fine Corinthian leather work, hand chiseled procaine craft, the bubble gum machine chic that speaks to us through the words of god in the voice of angels in heaven. I cannot contain in words, no not in a thousand pictures, how much these toys have inspired me. I feel like it goes far beyond being merely ‘plastic’ yes, into being truly ‘great’. It really propels the plastic from an uninteresting component to a topic of conversation worthy only of the most sophisticated and trained eyes of modern art ascetics.
Clearly the artist is trying to give a sense of what he sees as mundane machinery behind art. The piece Mr. Yippers (also known as Plasic Monkey and or Donkey Headed Baby Doll in Dome) is probably a technically more adventurous, edgier relative of PeePee Baberiel & Flock the Monkey, but there’s something about this toy that just gets me. I mean, i am not a frizzy-haired white male with complicated relationship drama, but I do buy a lot of shit on Etsy. You should too.
