Underground Rebel Bingo Vs Karaoke Killed the Cat
Not for the old at heart
Two parties are going on this week that we are really found of. The long running Karaoke Killed the Cat party is rolling through New York tonight and unstoppable international juggernaut that Underground Rebel Bingo makes it’s second Philly excursion.
Karaoke Killed the Cat is designed for those who hate Karaoke, or at least thought they couldn’t like it. I appreciate this, because I myself have engaged in the haphazard pleasure of getting on stage at shitty hotel bars and office worker happy hour joints with the intention of fucking up the song. I’ve nearly been murdered on more than one occasion by twisted zealots who are convinced they are going to be discovered by music moguls any day now.
Underground Rebel Bingo is another event that takes something really, really boring an makes it cool. Sex, drugs and Bingo? Yes please. Again I can appreciate this, because again, I have stumbled wasted into old lady bingo spots with the misinformed belief that my drunken antics would go over well. I can tell you, they do not.
What both of these events do is take a third activity that personally bores the hell out of my low attention span brain- the dance party. They both lend dance party something it’s missing, an activity or focus.
Having been to both of these parties in the past, I can attest that they masterfully create a sick, epic environment that brims on being out of control.
Who wins, Karaoke Killed the Cat or Underground Rebel Bingo? Both. You know who else wins? The jaded sick fucks who get off their ass and go to either. If you make it out this weekend, you’re a big fat stinking winner too.
