Yeah, as you can see from our Happy Mother’s day post, we here at Swellco & Swellco aren’t real keen on pointless Hallmark sentiment. I know it’s our corporate mandate for Swellco2000 to encourage all consumer assets to flex their purchasing power at all times, I would not be one to question the company line. It’s not a mindless excuse to purchase flowers that will die in a day and useless scraps of paper that will be read and then dumped in the trash that irritates me. It’s the blandness of it all.
No I’m not suggesting you get your mother all coked up and take her for lap dances (that’s my job) But Jesus Christ, the phony trite sentiments expounded on a day like today makes my eyes bleed.
So on that note I present you with The Other Family. The Other Family is a collection of re-written Family Circus Comic Strips. Who is behind it is a mystery. They claim to be a group of TV & film writers who were bored. Of course they are scared shitless about getting sued so they remain anonymous. God bless them. They took what may be one of the WORST comics of all time and made them laugh out loud funny.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go call my mother now and apologize.
