The Art of Hyung Ko Lee
I tend to think that the explanation behind these pictures takes away from the pure creepiness of them. However, in the interest of education I’ll include it. I suggest looking at the pictures first though.
The Objectuals’ was a series created by Hyung Ko Lee in an exploration of body modification .Originally starting out with devices that modified other parts of his body, he finally settled on creating a helmet which would change the proportions of various features via the use of various lenses. Why? Hyung Ko Lee was trying to deliver social commentary about the at times irrational nature of people obsessed with modifying their bodies and faces to reach an ‘ideal’ look that they had in mind.
