Meet Cinema Barbare Programer Greg Christie
Because they’re so important to us and to our creating a positive experience for our customers, we’ll let a few members of our staff introduce themselves. Today we’d like to introduce Cinema Barbare Programer Greg Christie (Swellco & Swellco 24431d)
Greg Christie (Swellco & Swellco 24431d) is filmmaker, critic, goat herder and festival curator that has recently returned to Philadelphia from the awesome poppy fields of Austin, Texas. He has produced such classics as Love Guts, Skank and Your Dead, & Flesh Cake. In 2003 he received a stipend to study in Tokyo and produce a documentary on the glorification of rape and sexual violence in Japanese erotica. Since graduating with a film degree from Temple University, Greg has lived in New York and crewed on productions such as Rescue Me, Law & Order, The Sopranos, Ultimate Bukkake 4 and Spider Man 3. He’s worked with the Philadelphia International film festival, the Fantastic Fest in Austin, and programmed subversive cinema for the Harrisburg Arts Fest. He is the co-founder and former president of Temple University’s Cult Film Collective. Greg is a avid fan of carrots, enjoys writing haiku about the strippers he stalks and often takes long walks on the beach. His artwork dealing with themes such as nude wrestling and dinosaurs are widely collected. and paid for his recently acquired palatal Sicilian Villa and his collection of rare vintage merkins.
Greg is excited to become a part of the Swellco & Swellco Video Circus and plans to help bring the best in transgressive cinema from around the world to Philadelphia.
